The Baseball Game
/The breeze is cool and the sunshine is bright. It is an absolutely perfect day at the ballpark!
Junk food and beer! Peanuts, cracker jacks, and ice cream make a wonderful lunch. Ok, for those who care about protein, go ahead and have your dog. Throw the shells on the floor and stow your garbage under your seat. Hah! Be messy!
Scream and shout as loudly as you can! Let your arms fly around; pump your fists. Get up and dance to the music! Root for the mascot. Play the games. Shout, clap, jump around! Maybe you’ll be the Fan of the Game. If you scream and reach far enough, you can maybe catch a tee shirt shot out of the gun.
Watch the people - kids, elderly, all ages in between. A woman is knitting. A young guy is texting. Some friends are gossiping.
The beer vendor climbs by. Go ahead, have another. Your money is handed down the row and back your beer comes hand-over-hand. This is service fit for royalty!
Finally you get to the best part of the game: the Seventh Inning Stretch. Sing God Bless America. And by all means, shout out the lyrics to the Anthem and throw your fingers in the air to count: One, Two, Three Strikes You’re Out at the Old Ballgame!!!!
Oh yeah. There is a baseball game going on down on the field, too.
